Surviving Domestic Violence

Bad news

Hello everyone this is Teela’s son, I must inform you all that Teela has passed away yesterday, she was a strong brave woman and fought hard until the end. She was very sick with multiple problems such as RSV, COPD, and Pnuemonia. I know her stories were outstanding and I hate she couldn’t have made another one. God bless you all.

  1. I am so sorry to hear about Teela’s passing. She was a kind, compassionate and strong woman who tried very hard to make the world a better place by her being here; she succeeded!
I would really like to see her blog, her legacy live on; I will raise the money to keep it going if you let me know where to send it. I will try contacting WordPress myself but I can be reached at reimerc@outlook.com
Your mother was a great lady; I am sorry for your loss. I can’t help but feel her spirit lives on in the lives of everyone who knew her.

  2. Also, can you please see about getting her site reactivated? It’s not letting us read it now.

  3. I’m so so sorry. I’ve selfishly stayed in my own word. I think of her so often and have missed time with her. She impacted my world. She was tender to me. I’m selfish again. I’m just thinking that I lost a friend I intended to ask to spend more time with, but when I got out of my own world, more. Anyway, what you have is a mother who moved me. Her writing moved me. She made me understand pain better and resilience. She planted her flag firmly in honesty and I thought she was braver and kinder than most people. I respected her. On top of that, I was beholden to her. She, along with another person, Lance, who I respect so much, were generous to me, in a way I needed. They made it so I could keep working at what I needed to, by giving me what I needed from their pockets, their strength. I’m sorry, you lost her. You won’t be finding a replacement here. I hope when you let more people into your life, up close, that you consider her standard of friendship and of love and welcome that. I really can’t tell you just how much of mark she made in my life, but I can tell you, she didn’t ask for anything at all in return and she encouraged me when I very desperately needed it. I count her a true friend. Thank you for sharing her and write me, if you need me. I’m really sorry.

  5. She had come to symbolize the struggle of domestic violence to me. Reading her tearful blogs about what had happened to her family broke my heart. I tried to check on her but I assume her health problems limited her access to social media. The thing that broke my heart the most was her unwarranted guilt over what had happened. She was strong and very intelligent and reflective. I will miss her insights. This is an enormous loss. My thoughts are with you and your family.
