Surviving Domestic Violence

A True Hero

You gave yourself

Of time and more

To offer another

A gift of worth

Oh how I melt

Beneath your words

Some may never

Ever know

The heart that beats

Within your chest

Pulses above all the rest

Yet I know

And gladly so

That you are

A true hero

For those who’ve given more than they had to.Β  You’re the heroes.Β

  5. Awesome poem Teela! I’m glad you are writing more poetry, you are better at it then you think πŸ™‚ Your words about a hero being giving of time, reminds me of the Reagan quote below, and the poem as a whole, in connection with the quote, makes me think of the awesome Foo Fighters song “My Hero”. Thanks for sharing, and for being one of my heroes Tee πŸ™‚

    • Thank you AoA,
We have quite a few unsung heroes among us. I felt it only fitting to acknowledge them.

I’m about to make a frivolous post. But I need some humor tonight and the one I’m about to post seems to fit the bill.
